Reply to "N&W Prototypical Steam Era Coal Hoppers"

Lots of good suggestions. I really like the Lionel offset hoppers from a few years ago.  They are scale, have diecast bodies (heavy), and pull really well.  They were all made before Lionel's conversion to the cheapo plastic non-sprung (thumbtack) trucks, so they have the nice metal trucks with hidden coupler tabs.  They were made in many road names, including N&W.  For the most part, they can be found fairly easily in the secondary market and even some dealer NOS.
