Need Help with Real Redbird Subway Roll Sign

RailrunninOGR Forum Member SUPPORTING MEMBERDIGITAL SUBSCRIBER

I have a couple of prototype Roll Signs that were used on the Redbirds in NY. I purchased them around 2002. The rolls are pristine and the entire mechanism inside the "box" is intact.

However...there is huge resistance when trying to move via the handle. I don't want to risk damaging the roll sign. I seem to remember one worked when I purchased it.

My question is who or what type of profession am I looking for that could carefully get the gears / mechanism working again. Here are a couple of pics of the Rollsign. There are around 20 stops on the roll.
