I do not have mine in front of me (yet), but compare the red with that on a LN late '50s Gilbert red and white box or the red on a LN red/white/black set box lid from the same period. The red on the set boxes is somewhat pink in hue because the red ink is printed on white corrigated cardboard. If the color is close to one of those, then it can be argued that the tank car is "correct".
