Well, I don't know that it's not a defect, but it's a design defect! IMO it was just laziness that made them use track power for the number boards, I also would like them to be truly dark until spoken to.

OTOH, the lighted number boards do alert me to the fact that I've left the power on one of my turntable whisker tracks. nod
