I recently bought the MRC AH501 Pure Power 135W transformer for $100, IMO a better choice. Pure sine wave and 135 watts output power. I've actually retired the Z-1000 I had on my bench as it wasn't totally compatible with a number of earlier Protosound 1 locomotives.
