1) There has always been a whine with the screen on, some hear it more than others, screech could be a problem
2) Feedback is so-so are you sure its on?
3) Heat is a problem, have you tried a different set of batteries?
weird Mine doesn't make any sound just the usual blip when pressing the keys.
feedback on mine is not that sensitive but I really don't care. it doesn't affect the trains any so woopty I look at it as a gimmick.
I will say this because of the legacy hand held I tend to look for Lionel engines.
I like the fact that the proto 2 engines don't blink under a tressle, don't have to worry about them loosing a signal in a yard . I don't have to stick a memory module in the hand held or program the engine by hand BUT to me and this is just me compared to the legacy controller the DCS hand held is a antiquated feature less POS.
It even looks toy like. The thumb wheel is a PITA and I'm always forgetting this code or that. And to beat all when I think I got the right code I hit the train wreck.
What moron put that in there? Hey I've been model railroading for a long time and believe me if I want a train wreck I know how to get er done.
MTH needs a huge wake up call . their hand held needs a rotory knob throttle a plunger type whistle control and touch screen info per engine.
I think the Legacy system has far surpassed anything MTH is making Proto 2 or 3 doesn't matter Lionel is light years ahead .
