New LionChief GP 38 Derails on Curves

I just got the new LionChief GP38 (2034220) and it derails while going forward on three of the layouts O36 curves.  The front wheels slide to the outside of the track.

It goes through them fine in reverse or if I switch the direction of the engine.

To me, it appears that there might not be enough weight in the front of the engine.

If it’s a weight issue, I’m not sure if it’s a design flaw or if they forgot to add weight at the factory.

I tried adding some weight to the outside of the engine but it didn’t seem to be enough weight to fix it.  I’m hesitant to take it apart to add more weight as it will void the warranty.

I'm not sure if it’s something other than the weight.

Also, I’m not sure if I should just send the engine back for repair since it didn’t work right out of the box. I bought it from Charles Ro who always provides awesome customer service and repair work.

I realize that I could just run the engine in the other direction but if I change my layout track plan at some point, I may end up with a design where it details in both directions.

Thanks for any advice that you can provide.

Chris
