I agree with the earlier opinions that I've found it to be a very smooth-running engine.  But I still haven't figured out how to get all the Legacy features unlocked or uploaded because it doesn't come with an orange Legacy module.

Yes, I checked over the weekend and the cars have articulated couplers.  I haven't had any problems so far on O-36 curves and switches.  (Knock on iron.)
