New Marker Light Wiring Necessary?

I recently had my MTH Premier Light Mikado's sound file changed to one more appropriate to the project I had in mind. The file came from an engine that did not have tender marker lights, so I'm assuming this is why the Mikado's marker lights aren't on now compared to when I first got it. I don't think the lamps are broken or defective, but I could be wrong. Do you think it's time I rewire them directly to the pickups?
