When it comes to 3D viewing, the "creme de la creme" of model railroading CAD planning software is something I've only recently heard about. It's called 3rdPlanIt by Eldorado Sofware. Given it's capabilities, I wouldn't hesitate a NY-second to spend the $125 for it if I were planning more model train layouts. Heck, I'm so intrigued by its capabilities, I might get it anyway!!! Or at least play around with the trial version. Yes, it's the first piece of software for model railroad layout planning that's given my eyes cause to stray away from RR-Track after all these years. It's THAT impressive. nod
