Reply to "New Williams York Releases"

Charlie:

Thank you for posting.  WBB are ALWAYS reliable.  A little grease, a little oil and off to the races.

Do you know if Williams is going to the made-to-order business model, like others?  Or will they produce enough so that if someone in June or later wants one they may be able to get through you via the availability at your wholesaler?

My question is one of curiosity.  Regardless of the Williams business model, if someone wants one, I would order now.

If I may, to clarify for the prior poster (and it could be helpful for others that are thinking the same things he has asked)

Xrayvizhen : what you note is in fact the quandary that Bachmann (Williams) is in.  The WBB unit is no fuss, no muss.  It does what it is supposed to do.  Pure conventional.  The RailKing unit can be conventional as well, but you do have to do a lot of power/no power (or hit direction button) on the transformer to get the RK to go through some of it's functions.  Can do these function a bit easier with a DCS.

So, if you are pure conventional, you have choices.

  • If you are conventional operator and think you might like to one day go towards DCS or at least get the functions to work using the on/off methods or you may get a DCS system, then go with the RK.
  • If conventional and that is as sophisticated as you want to get, then go with the road name you want between the two manufacturers.

( Charlie - intent is to complement the thread and seek clarity on the item you advertised.  You have great pricing and excellent packing/shipping.  A good store from whom to purchase. )

Thanks.
