Reply to "Next Lionel catalog"

I think that if Lionel would do a scale T-1 Duplex (which I admit would be great) again, they'd have to invest in complete new tooling after the lawsuit. They made all new tooling for the Allegheny and the Big Boy in 2005-6, which I'm not 100% sure were also involved in the copyright scandal in 2000, but wouldn't surprise me if they were.

I still stand strong by my beliefs that Lionel should re-release a Legacy version of the J3A class Hudson with whistle steam. Much like the scale T-1 Duplex, it's been absent from the Lionel line for 15+ years. There's clearly a whole LOT of people on this forum who would snap it up at the flick of a switch - hence why it's really hard to find the 2002 version anywhere, even on the bay - and it's an engine that can be done in multiple variations, much like the 2015 Empire State Express was. If there's an old engine I would like Lionel to rehash, it's this one.

As for any others, I do think Lionel has made just about every engine I do want, but I will agree a Legacy Niagara, and L3/4 class Mohawk would be great.
