NJ International Crossbuck

I am thinking about purchasing NJ International Crossbucks #3095 for my layout. On the website it says to use the Flashmaster #8003 with the crossbucks. I have an extra Lionel 153ir I would prefer to use because I save money. I was wondering if it can be used with Lionel 153ir? Also if anybody likes or dislikes this product (crossbucks or the crossing gate)?
