'No New Engines' on MTH DCS WiFi with 20-2986-1

Hi Everyone, just bought a 'new to me' 20-2986-1 O Scale Premier Evolution Hybrid Set w/Proto-Sound 3.0 (Hi-Rail Wheels) as I've been looking for one for a while and I'm having some issues with it.

I'm using 50-1036 DCS WiFi Digital Command System with the TIU and WIU connected via USB connected to a lock on, and to MTH Realtrax.

I can't get the 20-2986-1 to detect on the track. I've confirmed it's in 3 rail and DCS mode. I cannot see an option for a battery in the users manual, and there doesn't appear to be a connection for one in the locomotive. So far I've cleaned the track, cleaned the locomotive pickups and wheels. I've pulled a bit of fluff and dirt/lint out of the wheels and some gears. There is no noise when it's put on the track, and it's not detected (either when on the track by itself or with another locomotive - but the 'other' locomotive is) I've confirmed that the TIU and WIU are both on the latest firmware.

I can successfully run the following locomotives without issue (so I think it's an issue with this particular locomotive)
30-20363-1 - O Gauge RailKing ES44AC Imperial Diesel Engine With Proto-Sound 3.0
20-21161-1 - O Scale Premier AC4400cw Diesel Engine w/Proto-Sound 3.0 (Hi-Rail Wheels)
20-21248-1 - O Scale Premier E-8 A Unit Diesel Engine w/Proto-Sound 3.0 (Hi-Rail Wheels)

I've even tried directly going from the TIU to my PC and trying to save the sound file from the locomotive using the DCS Consumer Loader, it also says there is no locomotive present.

I don't own a conventional controller or the DCS remote so I can't really test with those. Unfortunately, all my other train stuff is HO and in DC

I've reached out to the seller and to MTH, does anyone have any suggestions I've missed?
