On April 8, 2017 an N&W 611 Excursion train trip ran from Spencer, NC to Lynchburg, VA and back. This ten hour long round trip featured the famous Norfolk and Western 611 4-8-4 Class J Steam Engine. Originally built in 1950, this fine streamlined engine has been fully restored and well maintained. Also featured on this excursion were a number of restored, high-end vintage passenger cars. This video shows you the engine including inside the cab as well as a tour of the entire interior of the train while en route. Every effort was made to make this amateur video as high tech as possible and fun as well as educational to watch. You will be made to feel like you are part of the trip. ENJOY!
