Reply to "Northbrook Shops progress (More LED lighting tweaks 9-5)"

I finally got back in the shop for a bit today to experiment with the LED lighting some more. I wanted to swap out the dropping resistors with some SMD ones for a cleaner install. I am running 750ohm 0805s which are good for 100mW heat dissipation but just ordered some 1206s which can go to 1/4 watt. These LEDs are pulling 11mA each so the resistors are at almost 100% heat dissipation. I just wanted to see if I could solder the SMD ones to my lighting  rail. I think it’s a much cleaner look as shown by the comparison photos:

Norm, as I was reading this again, it occurred to me that you could get some square brass or plastic stock and create bus ducting around your wires to really detail out the wiring.

Bus ducting, as you may already know, runs all the wires in the ceiling for industrial environments.  This is very similar to what you are already doing for wiring your lights. (note this photo is from the internet, not one of mine)
