The most my grandson and i have seen was six UP units pulling 13,000 tons of crushed rock out of Mcneil Texas. The driver that delivered the crew told us about the load but not the number of engines. It was on us before i realized there were six engines.
We have seen one train with four engines but usually it is only three engines pulling containers, auto carriers, tanks and hoppers. Its surprising how often we see Canadian cars.
