Yes, I believe that may have a very small effect. But who is this "public"? The good people of York? I'm a TCA member and I wouldn't drive my kids over and hour to train show. Like @MartyE suggested, unless it takes place in a large metro area, you won't get a big public turnout. The York meet will have its ups and downs based on TCA membership attendance.
