This may have been mentioned before, probably on another thread.

If you have modern locomotives with speed control, Postwar operating cars with sliding shoes on the bottom of the trucks and tubular track with 022 switches, like I do, it works great to pull those operating cars with an MTH PS2 or PS3 on DCS, or an LC+ or Legacy locomotive, or other locomotive using speed control.

Before I had locomotives with speed control that run so slow and smooth, it was not uncommon for a sliding shoe to get snagged in an 022 switch, necessitating a PIA repair.

Since acquiring speed control engines, I always use them to pull my Postwar operating cars with sliding shoes, have done so for several years, and there have been zero such snags.

Below is one of my best locomotives, an MTH Railking PS2 Pennsy Bantam Turbine, running on DCS, pulling a Postwar operating coal dump car, Postwar operating log dump car, Postwar operating barrel car and a few other cars, through 022 switches from my outer to inner main line:
