No Ed, I wanted to have the DCC control and sound system changed out and some damage to the turret door hinges repaired. It was discovered all the wheels needed to be re-gauged.  I hoped to be able to run it on 72" radius curves, but I'd have to butcher the frame, so that won't happen.

Yes, it's a very complicated loco and one I could never take apart....I left that to an expert. Here is a photo of it dismantled....something you don't see everyday.

Gary is the best! That's a thing that still lies ahead for me in the future. I convinced a Sunset 4-12-2 to negotiate a 72" curve in P:48

It's possible but you need maximum lateral movement of the axles. I think it's still possible with the KOHS frame. Look at the last pic how much of a curvature the wheelbase has to cope with! I love the nines!
