O72 Fastrack Command Switches will not take programming

Two of 11 command switches failed to take commands nor will they take an ID# reprogramming attempts. All the switches have been working fine for months until this morning. I've cut the power, then tried again. One switch blinks when the program key is depressed, but will not take an ID set command. The other one just stares at me. Both work with the manual control. Is the command function kaput, or is their something I can do to wake them up? Of course both switches are dead in the middle of my 7x16 layout...so, I've not pulled them yet. Thought I'd ask for help first. Thanks,
