Hi Everyone....
Earlier this morning, I had shared with you all that neither Quaker Steak and Lube or Ruby Tuesday could accommodate the size of our group as it has grown to over 200. While I won't bother you with the details as I did earlier, it boiled down to the fact that the manager at Quaker Steak could not promise any more reserved seating than what they can handle in their back room which is about 50. We had decided to see how meeting at both/either place would work this time hoping that more folks could get faster service BUT right after my post I had several folks update me on the fact that Ruby Tuesday is now closed!! So much for the great experiment...LOL!!
So...since then I have had several phone calls and emails from various members here on the forum with their suggestions. I have called and talked to at least a half dozen other restaurants and believe it or not, they turned down the opportunity to try to fit us in... The last one I talked to ( Logan's Roadhouse ) basically said what others said: "they don't feel they could accommodate the numbers with the staff they have available and don't want to offend their regulars that would come in that week for the York Train Meet"
So...we are back to square one. We still have reservations at Quaker Steak and Lube for October 20th beginning at 5:30. When you come in the door, just let the host or hostess know you are with OGR. The back room will get crowded quickly and some of you (it has happened to me each time we have been there) will have to wait...OR...you do have the option to request a table. If you do, you may want to inflate your numbers so that when others of our group come in, they can sit in the larger room with you and don't have to wait....just a thought.
