“Buy high, sell low.” That’s always been my motto selling at train shows and on Ebay. It works pretty well, too!
You remember the old joke about the fellow that noticed his retailer friend was not making any money at all on his sales, so he asked him how he could possibly turn a profit that way. The fellow replied, “volume.”
