Reply to "Over oiled commutator/brushes, how do I clean it"

I'd use something like Naphtha (lighter fluid), avoid alcohol as it also might affect the lacquer insulation.  I find lighter fluid to be the most innocuous cleaning fluid as a rule, I've yet to see it affect any paint on my models, where other solvents will.
