That is an awesome model. Yes, keep AC power away from this. I would think that an engine of this size and vintage might need a pretty "ballsy" power pack: look at the high-end unit(s) from Model Rectifier, maybe.

Micro Engineering flex track is good stuff, and less expensive than Atlas...I think. Have fun!
