Update: got an email from Midge, she was able to track down both worms and the flywheel intended for this engine, with proper bearings, couplers and spacers.

So I'll pull these Lionel worms/bearings and save for a rainy day, or if someone wants to trade a worm for helping me upload the S1 sounds to my card, maybe that would work.
