Like so many accessories, the KNOWN failure on this one is a cracked gear, not a failed motor.

Classic press fit on a knurkled/splined shaft that creates stress risers in the plastic gear and eventually the gear yields and cracks. That causes 2 things- the gear teeth spread and thus jam when those out of spacing teeth interfere with the next gear and it slips on the shaft.
