Fixed couplers with uncoupling track

So I'm wrapping up assembling my layout, and I have an Inglenook switch installed. I - obviously - want to be able to work the switching puzzle with a minimum of fuss. A big monkey wrench into this mix however is that I want to avoid having the "Hand of God" or the "Stick of God" come down from the heavens to handle the coupling. So, I'm hoping to rely on a couple different Lionel uncoupler tracks (6019 and 6419). I'd like to do this with a small footprint LC or LC+ engine, though if worse comes to worse, I can do it a similarly sized conventional engine (though I really like being able to stop the train without having to adjust track power). For LC trains of a smallish footprint, their knuckle couplers are fixed. Will this pose a problem with connecting to boxcars (if I leave their coupler open), or use of the uncoupling track section?

Would like to get this figured out before I lay everything out for the first time and realize it's already sideways on me. Thanks!
