Forgot to mention a few other items....
- I suggest just laying track for the time being (vs. nailing/screwing it in). That way it is easy to move should you have a change of plans as you develop this.
- Are you planning to have a subsurface? Different people use different materials to deaden/muffle the hollow sound that is created by the void between the track bottom and the wood.
- For my subsurface I used those rubber floor pieces that look like puzzles. Got them in black from Harbor Freight. Yes, it is all black (not green or brown - more 'natural' colors), although I guess black landscape could be natural to some areas that mined coal in the 40's and 50's...
- You have a great start. I should have stated that first. And it's nice to have a separate space in the hosue for this.
