Hi Guys....a couple years later...but can you use the announcement car if you are just using a different Lionel Lionchief Plus Locomotive.

I have 6 Polar Express Cars and am trying to buy an Announcement Car.

Do I need a universal remote, a Polar Express remote, or do I need an Locomotive from a set.
