I think it may be on purpose. There are 2 sets out there. Just make sure what you order what matches yours. The cars are almost identical except for name location. I remember past confusion about this.

I'm aware there are 2 sets. Black roofs have PE above the windows and white roofs below on the previous releases

The 2021 catalog depicts both black and white roof sleeper cars with PE above. The white roofs should be below the windows.
