There have been some discussions.  It was hoped that the SD40-2 would have been a nice gateway unit to newer type power, however it seems the transition era locomotives still sell the most numbers.  Time will tell.  We are finalizing graphics on the E6s now for production pretty soon.  The F3s will be next most likely and we'll see how the FA announcement goes over.

I would be interested in a GP7P myself as C&NW and CNJ were similar on that variant and a CNJ one would save me the time of modifying an ancient Kemtron GP7 I have!

+1 on the CNJ, Jonathan!  If offered, that would become my first 3rd Rail locomotive purchase...FINALLY!  Believe me, it's not that I haven't wanted to join the "3rd Rail club"...I've been admiring their offerings for a LONG time now, patiently waiting for a model and road name combination that suits my interests.

Then...if 3rd Rail is successful with this offering of a very utilitarian/ubiquitous diesel like the GP7/9, then maybe...just maybe, they would be willing to be the first to offer an accurate, scale-sized and highly-detailed ALCO RS2, RS3 and RSD4.  Hey, I'm just not ready to give up the dream!
