"Growl like a wounded buffalo". You know, that exactly describes my '46 berkshire. And oddly enough, its my only "noisey" postwar engine. The next loudest engine is my dads '49 turbine and the only noise is the "tink tink tink tink" of the smoke chamber piston. The rest are pretty smooth quiet runners and I wouldn't trade them for anything
