Post war GG1 trailing trucks derailment

Just had a friend convert my 2340 GG1 to Tmcc. Works perfectly, but is limited to the upper 2 loops on my layout because this one, like my 2332 and 2 Kline GG1s will not go thru the 022 crossover to thge lower loop without the lead or trailing truck derailing. The guy who did the conversion said that every Lionel GG1 he has ever seen has sloppy trailing trucks. Has anybody come up with a modification or fix for this problem?
