The new Apple format is only offered on the last 2 versions of iPhones and iPads. I switched the camera on the iPhone to most compatible and here is a picture straight from the camera that is being uploaded from the latest version of iPad. It is no big deal, I was curious about support for the newest format, I agree it is better to use JPEG format.
