The camera sees everything! Zooming in and looking closely at the area below the cab window, I can see the ghosts of five stripes. No color, just five areas of less-oxidized green paint, rather like worn lettering on real railroad equipment.

Like the majority of GG-1s, the lower stripe (or two) cuts across the ladder. In earliest production, the stripes were higher, but they were moved down to avoid the complex curves on the ends of the locomotive.
