If none of the above suggestions work on your engine, it could be that the TPC-300 isn't producing Pure Sine Wave form that is necessary to operate ProtoSound 1 engines. If your engine states it has "ProtoSound" and not PS2, that is probably the case. Supplying the product number should confirm this.
