Process for systematic update of all my DCS remotes and TIUs?

Now that I’ve debugged Lionel TMCC/Legacy on my large layout, I’m gathering courage to take on DCS again.  I have several TIUs (all Rev L) and a few DCS remotes, none of which have had a software update in years now.  I need to updates all this hardware, as well as set up “Super TIU”.  I’ve searched for a thread on this forum about the process of doing this when it’s “large” as in my case, so as not to waste time doing things out of sequence.  I have. Barry’s book (sorry to learn we have lost him), in its latest edition, so I have the basic instructions.  Have done updates in the past, have the needed cables, so it’s not entirely new to me.

I’ve been a bit unclear about what to do first, second and third etc to be systematic in a large update like mine with the need to wind up with Super TIU working across the whole railroad.  Is there info on existing threads to help avoid missteps and wasted time and effort?

Footnote: I expect I will want to use the DCS app, in case that offers a simplifier in not having to deal with updating multiple remotes.  Do have my WIU, too.

Thanks, Don
