I was wondering if the system would find an added TIU after the initial power up.

Absolutely. Any remote can access any TIU in the remote's TIU list any time that both are powered on, regardless of whether the remote was on or off when the TIU was turned on. Remotes initiate conversations with TIUs, not the other way around.
