Proto 1 mth veranda derails

Maybe somebody can help I have a mth proto 1 veranda my dad had it new in box since day he bought it and shipped it to me long story short xmas eve I setup a track with 072 curves....and it would derail.. I took to a repair shop they said plastic plates were warped and he filed a few truck pieces down but said would only be a temp fix... it would happen again ..is there a fix for this..am I stuck..what can I do he said it was an issue with alot of proto 1 verandas
