Proto 2 and batteries

ToledoEdOGR Forum Member DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER

I’ve been advised if a Proto2 engine has not been run in years, the battery must be changed for a new one or you run the risk of “frying” boards. Is that true? If so can I simply install a BCR(?). Thanks.
