Yep get a new battery and see if the engine will retain it's address. Maybe even give it a new ID to verify the battery is good.(power down layout and try starting again upon power up.

maybe even a feature reset... Menu/Advanced/ reset engine/ feature reset... engine will retain it's ID. good luck.
