Reply to "PRR Tinplates"

Ah, the one and only Standard Railway of the World, also affectionately known as the "Pennsy" and "PRR". Many of us lament the vandalistic destruction of the GREAT Penn Station in NYC, modeled after the classical Roman baths, and built under the direction of one of its greatest presidents, Alexander J. Cassatt, whose sister incidentally was the famous American Impressionist artist,  Mary Cassatt. Penn Station was an absolutely grandiose monumental edifice, that should never have been demolished for the unremarkable building that replaced that treasure. I am glad I was able to visit, and travel to and from this remarkable station, on several occasions in the fifties and early sixties. A great architectual loss for NYC and the world!
