The demolition of the PRR Pennsylvania Station is unforgivable. It was an architectural masterpiece, and would be almost impossible to build today. Fortunately its destruction led directly to the architectural preservation movement that has saved many other important structures.

BTW, we need another term for plastic trains that run on tinplate track. "Tinplate" really doesn't describe them!
