Mine are ready to go when power is turned on in command control which is all I run. In conventional mode the PS3 engines just sit there for a bit when first powered up before they come to life. This may be 15 seconds or so then the sounds come on and it will be ready to run. I haven't run any in conventional, but my LHS does and that is where I have seen this happen.
