PS2 Diesel motor/driveline noise

Alright, I have a PS2 SD70M, that I have a driveline noise in the forward motor.
A little background of what I’ve checked so far. First off the motor is not rubbing anything. Next I took the motor off of the truck. The motor turns free as well as the wheels in the truck turn free. I reassembled and still get the noise at slow speeds. It sounds more like a clunk, not a rub. Almost acts as the worm gear does not mate right.

I had a engine awhile back that sorta made a noise like this and found the motor was not tight to the truck. I tighten it and it was cured. That’s does not work in this case. So I am stumped.
