If it's tin plated steel you should be fine. Put a kitchen magnet up to the track and check it. Or place your magnatraction engine on a single piece of straight track and lift up the engine. The tubular track should lift up with the engine. Can't imagine the cost and durability problems of making tubular track out of solid tin, brass or copper.
