Question on Legacy battery charging

I've been staying away from getting a Legacy system until (hopefully) it has been perfected. I distinctly remember the communication dropouts and problems with the battery charger. I did a search and haven't been able to find out if the charging problems have actually been solved. I also searched on Yahoo and saw that some folks had installed little fans on the bottoms of the charging units to help cool them down. So before I take the plunge into a new Legacy remote system (I've been making do with the MTH remote system) can you folks tell me what the status is with the charging system? I have a nice intelligent charger that will charge the batteries if the one in the Legacy system is still messed up. I was just curious if it is still a problem.
