I had posted a week or so ago about not being able to add locomotives with the App, I was testing them out using my PS2 5v R-21 Subway. Last night I had the time to play around with it and found a PS2 3v and a PS3 engine both worked fine with the app, so I decided to test out the Subway again. It started up as if it were in convential mode and couldn't be added with the app. It would cycle through F N R as I manipulated the transformer. I tried pulling the sound file using my PC just to see if it could read it and it couldn't find it on the track. I tried it with two R-21 subways and neither one would be added by the app or be read by the PC.
My layout is not built yet and the majority of my trains are still in storage, just wanted to set up a test track to play with the app. My 'test track' is just a 3' piece of Lionel tubular track and a postwar LW transformer connected to a Rev L TIU and Wifi Unit. Both are running the latest versions. Any ideas what's going on here? Is it worth a try to break out the Z4000 and see if that makes a difference? Could the early PS2 engines (this ones from 2000) have trouble reading a new TIU's signal?
