I'm pullin' for ya, pal! I'm definitely cheer-leading the use of battery power and R/C in this corner of the hobby. Overdue. Game changer. Love the potential. I've seen the growth impact of that power and control technology on other hobbies....drones, airplanes, helicopters. cars, trucks, sail boats, power boats, etc., etc...and the (yawn!) lack of interest in such by model railroaders....until recently. (Just retired....from the second career....from the LHS) I've told the story several times, but after seeing one company demonstrate BP w/R/C on O gauge...as well as the more common G gauge...in the Orange Hall at York a few years ago, I bought their system, gutted an LGB Mogul to make the install, ran the engine/tender on the store carpet...no track....bell ringing, whistle blowing, chuffing (sound) away just to get the train customers to think about alternatives. Not much effect among the old train pharts...of which I'm a dated peer...except to convince three train customers who come to mind to leave our counter and start making more purchases at the R/C drone/helicopter counter!!
And would you believe?.....We still don't have a supporting forum category to nurture the few folks who are trying to gain some knowledge and support for this iteration to model railroading...O2R/O3R, G, HO -style. Pushing a car up the hill with a rope, I say.
Be sure to post your experience...and success!.
